In this realm, a cheerful occasion was occurring - the introduction of a wonderful princess named Aurora. The king and queen invited all the fairies in the land to bestow their blessings on the little princess, to the delight of the kingdom. Among the welcomed pixies was the notorious Wrathful, known for her dim powers and unpleasant heart. Maleficent appeared in a gloomy cloud and pronounced a terrible curse on the princess, furious that she did not receive the same amount of attention as the other fairies. She said that on Aurora's sixteenth birthday, she would put her finger on the spindle of a wheel and go to sleep forever. The curse was eased by the good fairies, who had not yet bestowed their blessings.
